Single trip fares
a tip for all those of you who want to go one way and didnt reserve a ticket.
I was coming from Dublin airport and got to Heuston on a friday about 2.40pm. I hadnt known beforehand if i was getting the train back so i couldnt reserve it. Went to purchase a ticket for a single journey and found that it cost the absolute demented expense of €66 euro. Not wanting to contribute such a disgraceful amount of money to such an inefficient company, I walked 3 steps to the internet machine, logged on to the rail site, which wouldnt let me reserve tickets as it was only 20 mins before departure, I then booked a journey for the 4pm train for €36 euro, got the reservation number, marched back to the ticket collection machine, collected the ticket and walked on to the 3pm train as you are allowed to do. What a demented system. |
