(23/3/07) 2+ hour delay on Sligo line
Sligo passengers enjoyed the fruits of the wonderful new multi-million automatic signalling system this evening.
The 19.05 Connolly-Sligo (4-car 29000) was held in Killucan for 2 and a quarter hours due to a signalling failure. A number of passengers were forced to stand or sit on the floor during this period due to a lack of seats. I was thankfully able to get off in Mullingar and complete the rest of the journey to Longford by car. I learned long ago to drive part of the way on Fridays to avoid the weekend chaos that has become a ritual on the Sligo line. I overtook the train as it crawled into Edgeworthstown station at just before 23.00 - due to arrive at 20.35. I must seek out those refund forms |
