Default Unoffical Bus Strike Thursday Evening

Quote:
Bus stoppage planned for Thursday evening

16:18 Tuesday August 29th 2006

Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann drivers are to withdraw service on Thursday evening, it was announced this afternoon.

The stoppage has been scheduled to commence at 7pm, with normal service set to resume on Friday morning.

Drivers are taking the action over the failure of the government to deliver 100 extra buses promised.

Members of the NBRU are also angry that they were not consulted on proposals for a new Dublin Transport Authority.

Since no ballot, and no 7 days notice staff could be sacked as a result, I'd love too see how lack of buses effects drivers, really someone try
