Of course if Munster win the drivers in Cork will be too hungover to drive the new trains on Monday morning...

My eldest son keeps raving about "Monster Rugby" Sometimes (with a little help from his dad) he calls it "Rugby Monster" Dont think the die-hard teachers in the school are too impressed.

Now, I wonder did they do much to promote the fact that you can get from Limerick to Rosslare by train...

Spectacular timing.

They probably could have taken as many passengers on the line this weekend as they do in an average month.

Would have been damn easy take the spare cravens set out and run Limerick Rosslare without stopping at Limerick Junction, time it to arrive Rosslare to meet the ferry

Its a business opportunity and they failed miserably. Its a bit strange since they are more than happy to run GAA specials

Yeah, but considering the regular rosslare service isnt timed to meet the ferry this really is more in keeping with established practises.

Taking the boat to the UK is for committed environmentalists only; from Limerick to Cardiff can't be done in less than 17 hours the only connection available is the 1150 from Limerick arriving 1442; Depart Waterford 1745 arrive Rosslare 1901 Dept Rosslare 2105 arrive Fishgaurd 0030 Dept Fishguard 0150 Arrive Cardiff 0452

Hardly appealing

It's also done when all the flights are full.

Cork-Cardiff is about 10-11 hours by ferry/train combination (Speaks knowledgeably about this now)

In fairness, Irish Rail weren't the only ones to make a mess of this. The railway line between Cardiff and Swansea was closed on Sunday for engineering works.
