[29-12-2006] 13:00 Dublin Cork
Now this was a true laugh
Board at 12:40 and yes the yellow jumper brigade exist At 12:52 the doors lock and the train rolls 60m Corkwards and then stops, why they had to fill the toilet tank on coach C, no PA was made to explain the goings on (some quite confused people on the platform), but the guy outside plugging in the waterpipe was all I needed to see. IE management have denied this kind of thing happens well it does The electronic seat reservations where not working but there was a notice stuck in the correct seats stating it had been reserved, new to me but something which we had asked for since no notice was ever placed on the older coaches leading to all out confusion As is typical we left 1 minute late and crawled the whole way to Cherry Orchard for no reason Somewhere after Portarlington we are told there will be no catering trolley, no reason given The train manager made no effort to recover seats occupied with luggage despite the train being quite full While the train manager had a name badge none of the other IE staff had name badges (as per customer charter) one even decided to have a smoke while standing in Thurles standing at the First Class coach door (again in breech of the charter) So once again IE get close but fail utterly on the customer service delivery and information, its all easy but the will is clearly not there |
