Default Westport Railway Station - Clifden bus

The once daily seasonal Bus Éireann route between Clifden and Westport via Kylemore and Leenane is now operating year-round thrice daily (including Sundays) in each direction. It is extended beyond Mill Street in Westport to terminate at the railway station.
07.00 ex Clifden arrives Westport Stn. 08.33
11.25 ex Clifden arrives Westport Stn. 12.58: 13.10 train to Dublin M-S (13.20 Sundays)
16.00 ex Clifden arrives Westport Stn. 17.33: 18.15 train to Dublin M-S (17.45 Sundays)

In the opposite direction buses depart Westport Railway Station for Clifden at 08.45, 13.10 & 18.00. The 14.45 ex Heuston is scheduled to reach Westport at 17.54 so that is too tight for comfort.

The Achill and Louisburgh routes to/from Westport are merged (as route 450) and have a significantly enhanced service of six buses in each direction. On Sundays the recent situation of the Achill bus not connecting with the evening train to Dublin has been addressed and the new timetable sees ample time to make the connection (allowing for the walk from Mill Street bus stop to the station). The Ballina – Bangor – Belmullet – Blacksod route 446 has an enhanced service too. Timetable:

These very welcome developments will be beneficial to locals and visitors alike as things hopefully revert to near normal during 2021. A downside is that some locations such as Geesala and Killadoon are no longer served.
