Sundays - 18.05 Waterford - Heuston
Have had to start using the service over the last few weeks. For the last two weeks the train has many mechanical faults
Sun 2 Oct - 6 car with first class. After left Waterford train went down to 4 engines from 5. Were crawling all the way to Thomastown and when it stopped all power on train was lost. Engines could not be started for about 15 mins. Further problems in Kilkenny. Sun 10 Oct - 6 car no first class. Mechanical fault between Waterford - Thomastown. All power lost in Kilkenny twice. After we left Kilkenny the whole train went into darkness for about 10 mins before engines were started again. Trolley had no hot water because what ever they use on the train wasn't working. No communication form driver both weeks at all. When would be the last time the trains would get seen to. |

Would you happen to have any of the train / carriage numbers?
Are you saying all the lighting, etc. failed? Thats unusual as they are mean to have back-up batteries. There is a water heater connected to the engine / power system.

Not sure but think it was 22045. Have herd they are not going to use 6 car first class set anymore because of the amount of people standing. A major increase in passengers on that train since last year. On Sunday the 17.40 to Waterford failed in Heuston. 3 car left behind and passengers made get on to the other 3. Passengers still standing in Muine Beag. Was on the 13.10 to Waterford today and failed in Kildare. Waited for the 13.35 Heuston - Kildare to arrive and it operated the rest of the journey.
