NI Railway DMU in Waterford (false alarm)
As I was leaving Waterford there seemed to be NI Railway Class 3000 train at the end of one of the platforms. As it was dark I can't be sure but from what I saw it wasn't a IE DMU. I could be wrong but it should be on the 07:10 tomorrow morning.
The front of it looked very like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NI_Railways Last edited by Jamie2k9 : 21-11-2010 at 18:17. |

To be honest we need a photo, since this makes no sense
Its certainly not a C3K as they are not allowed to Waterford in service, it could be but unlikely to be a new C4K being delivered (not due till 2011), it could be the new fancy multi purpose maintenance unit Does it make a difference, nope

First C4K was not due to be delivered until April but is approximately 2 months behind schedule
What the original poster saw must have been a 22K While looking for something else entirely on the net earlier today I saw an short piece on the new vehicle. Apparently it can't be used as it is out of gauge for the Irish system

That is probably the most logical explanation
The C3K and C4K are the same in physical dimensions and should fit anywhere subject to a practical test. Both are/will be certified for cross border operation
