UPDATE 15.50hrs

There are high winds and rainfall across the country today 25th April 2012.

All train services are operating. However, due to water levels on the line at Seapoint, and between Greystones and Wicklow, there are currently delays of up to 20 minutes to DART, Commuter and Rosslare services.

During this weather, make sure you stay safe when travelling. In the station, as always, stand clear of the yellow line. Don’t run, as wet conditions may cause you to slip. Watch out for any debris being blown about in the wind. Try not to block entrances and exits for others if waiting in a sheltered area.

And on board, we’d ask that you keep wet shoes off seats out of courtesy to other customers.

Thank you for your cooperation.
Judging by reports on boards.ie, fun along the Blackrock-Dun Laoghaire strech with high waves spraying onto platforms and strong winds and rain as well.

"Keep wet shoes off seats"? I thought that you weren't even supposed to put dry shoes on seats.

DART services all over the place this evening with serious consequent delay to other services. Usual dismal operating practices exacerbating the problem.1638 Pearse to Maynooth could have departed to time but was instead held for 12 minutes to follow late running northbound DARTs departing at 1642 & 1646.

If you think average speeds on the Ballybrophy line are a joke, try the 1838 Connolly to Rosslare, average speed this evening, 15½ mph for the 19½ miles to Greystones. The scheduled average speed for this service is 24.37 mph !
