“Clongriffin is due to open on Monday 19th April. In the morning peak, along with the Dart trains, the 0712 Commuter from Drogheda will serve the station at 0758. In the evening peak from the city centre, along with the DART trains, the 1650 Commuter from Bray to Drogheda (1722 from Pearse) will serve Clongriffin. The 1815 Commuter from Pearse to Drogheda will also serve Clongriffin.

The station is here: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=5...,0.023174&z=15 between Clongriffin Main Street and Red Arches Road, Baldoyle. Pedestrian Access is available from Grange Road to Clongriffin station (via Railway Road) or Howth Junction & Donaghmede station (via path alongside the railway) via steps.

From the Clongriffin side, access to the station is either via Station Hill or Bridge Street (the steps / ramps). Dublin Bus route 128 serves the station and travels to Clare Hall, Coolock, Fairview, Connolly Station, Burgh Quay, St. Stephens Green and Rathmines. The is also underground parking on the Clongriffin side, charge unknown. There are about 100 bicycle parking spaces in the square.

From The Cost / Baldoyle side, access is from a road off the junction of Myrtle Avenue / Close and then via stairs or lift to the front of the station. There appears to be no car parking. There are 50 bicycle parking spaces at the stairs.

According to this, it takes 17 minutes to get from there to Connolly and according to this, it take 17 minutes to drive.

And what better way to start it off with a train breakdown at portmarnock!

It says trains are suspended north of hj for malahide but the one i am on is going to malahide

edit: the train i am on is only going as far as howth junction

The 17.29 ex Connolly to Clongriffin was due to make it there in 14 minutes- the express journey of the day!
However, on opening day today, it took 1 hour and 14 minutes!

Yip - I was on it! Was already delayed around 5.15pm, but arrived in 1 hour and 5 mins late to all stations from Malahide and north...

What on earth IE are doing running a freight train through the busiest route in the country in the evening rush hour raises interesting questions about priority and planning.

one of things i noticed about clongriffin station, is it has the audio "please stand back from yellow line, train now approaching" which is a good thing!

given people crossing tracks on the maynooth line it can only be a good thing to have these notices there too!
