Who will be top of the class this year! Voting now underway for this year's Best Station Awards

01 February 2014
Best Station Awards

The quest has begun for this year’s Iarnród Éireann Best Station and competition will be as tough as ever this year as customers will directly rate stations in the race to take the coveted title!

The format for the Best Station Awards will see awards decided by online voting and voting at stations by customers at 144 stations around the network. Customers will be asked to rate their station between 1 – 5, 5 being the highest grade, under the following criteria:

Staff helpfulness
Customer information
Station presentation
Staff appearance

Vote now for your station!

All entrants will be entered into a draw to win one of 5 luxury weekend weekends courtesy of Select Hotels of Ireland, with Iarnród Éireann also providing the train travel to and from the 5 great destinations.

DART Commuters will be receive a questionnaire at stations and all those that complete and return it will be in with a chance to win free DART travel for a year.

The Best Station Awards will be presented later this year and awards will be presented in the following categories:

Best Intercity Station Leinster
Best Intercity Station Munster
Best Intercity Station Connaught
Best DART/Commuter Station
Community Award
Overall Best Station

Iarnród Éireann is encouraging customers to send in their ratings: both for excellence in service and standards, and in areas where customers wish to see improvements.

The process will be as follows:

1. Following the closing date for public ratings, a shortlist of stations in each geographic region will be drawn up, based exclusively on the public ratings.

2. An independent market research company will undertake “mystery shopper” exercises at all shortlisted stations to assess stations on a detailed basis.

3. Nominations for each geographic award category will be announced, based on a combination of public ratings and the mystery shopper exercise.

4. The winners, including overall national winner, will be announced at the awards ceremony.
