Citygold refund because of no waiter service?
I took CityGold down to Cork this weekend. There was no in-seat service.
Am I entitled to a refund, and if so what are the relevant clauses in the conditions of carriage/customer charter? |

There is no citygold service on weekends.
Citygold service applies Monday Friday and only on the 6:30, 7:30 and 17:30 from Cork 7:00, 8:00 and 17:00 from Dublin If you paid 11.50 euro over the normal single fare or 23 euro over the return you paid the first class fare, citygold upgrade is 31 euro each way. Online booking system gets it right The refund is €6.35 if citygold waiter service is not offered Last edited by Mark Gleeson : 22-04-2007 at 21:53. |

Not a full refund, but it's something:
http://www.iarnrodeireann.ie/about_u...p?faq_id=26#26 Conditions of carriage add: 18.2 Where a First Class, CityGold or 1st Plus ticket holder is not provided with a pre-booked seat and/or the advertised in-seat catering service, he or she may travel in standard class accommodation and claim a refund of the difference between the appropriate First Class, CityGold or 1st Plus fare (as the case may be) and the standard class fare, provided that his or her ticket is endorsed by an authorised employee of Iarnród Éireann showing that the pre-booked seat and/or the advertised in-seat catering service was/were not available. |

Sorry, should have made it clearer - my post was in response to Thomas's original post (mentioning lack of waiter only), hence saying it wasn't full refund in that case. Of course, failure to provide seat can be a full refund. Apologies for any confusion!
