Default Removing railcars from Clonsilla-Docklands Services

I'm wondering if it woukld be possible to remove railcars from Clonsilla-Docklands services and replacing them with Mark 3 Push-Pull sets.

That means the railcars currently used on this service could be used on Maynooth-Connolly services. Or, if as is expected, servicing of railcars becomes a problem if they are away from Drogheda for too long, some of the old rolling stock will need to be pressed into use anyway.

Im not sure there is a problem with stock.

Did someone not report that there is a surplus of commuter railcars south of the boyne?

I dont think there is a need for any non-railcar sets on the maynooth line. They take up too much time and effort.

But it would be nice to have all trains as 6- or 8-car instead of some 4-car.

Best thing would be to go to 2 car operation, the demand isn't there and even at 2 car it would be far from uncomfortable, that would free resources to elsewhere

I think the Docklands service is more or less perfect as it is,it only uses 2 29000 sets to run and is always well-patronised at peak times.

2-car operation would probably delay things too much as people walk up or down the platform to get to the train = +90 seconds at each stop.

Default Mark 3 sets reinstated?

What are the chances that some mark 3 sets will be brought back into service in general? What with the faulty Mk4s and some 22ks.

The Mk3 sets were in my option the best INTERCITY experience on the IR network.
I think IE should really consider bringing some of the stored sets back into service.
