And don't I know. Last night I arrived at Gorey train station at 19.10 only to find the service is cancelled. I asked the station staff and told me the service is cancelled I asked him did the 16.40 operate from Dublin, he said yes etc..
I asked him is the 20.25 service operating he said no it will be a bus transfer. I had to ask him why is this. "Engineering Works" I asked him what about the DART from Greystones to Dublin he said they were operating as normal just the services from Gorey/Rosslare at night. 20.35 DART operates, 21.24 Bus, 21.30 DART operates. The previous train from Gorey 18.50 operates to Dublin why cant the 19.23 and the 20.25 operate. Doesnt make sense that the DART services are cleared to and from Greystones and not the last two services from Gorey/Enniscorthy but it does make sense to leave the train in Gorey and Enniscorthy unless they need to be re-fueled etc.. Greystones Dublin Connolly 04/03 19:52 20:32 0 Railcar Greystones Dublin Connolly 04/03 19:58 20:49 0 DART Greystones Dublin Connolly 04/03 20:35 21:27 0 DART Greystones Dublin Connolly 04/03 21:24 22:12 0 Bus Greystones Dublin Connolly 04/03 21:30 22:21 0 DART Greystones Dublin Connolly 04/03 22:10 23:04 0 DART |

I reckon that will be scrapped for the new timetable.
A direct intercity train from Rosslare will most likely replace it, although it will probably depart Enniscorthy around the same time as current, or a bit earlier. Last edited by sublimity : 04-03-2009 at 17:08. |

There are engineering works overnight on the DART line which means the empty 4:10 and 4:30 services from Connolly cant run, so they leave the trains in Gorey overnight

Oh the irony...
When are we going to see a revamp on the Dublin-Rosslare rail line??? I know I keep harping on about it but it really is a joke. Maybe someday in the future Iarnrod Eireann will surprise us... |

I rang IE yesterday and she clearly said the 19.23 was canceled but the 20.05 was operating. I also rang the Customer Information Line 018054288 and that to said it was operating.
I was on last nights bus transfer stopping at Arklow, Wicklow, Greystones, then Bray. Getting the DART to Connolly. DART left at 22.20 getting into Dublin @ 23.05 thats a 45minute delay for paying €16.80 Gorey to Dublin than traveling with Bus Eireann for thinks its €14-? and quicker. On the up side I think Bus Eireann have done them selfs proud. Thats why the trains are gone quiet. If these two services are canceled next week then IE are pulling strings. |

The 20.05 is a bus transfer from Monday 20th April to Thursday 23rd April and the 19.23 Gorey/Connolly is canceled Monday-Thursday except Friday According to the IE site . If IE do not want to operate the new Intercity 19.23 Gorey to Dublin why dont they just tell the customers that they do not want to ope rte this service it makes more sense to park the train at Gorey overnight instead of Coming from Dublin.

19.23 Gorey/Dublin OPERATING!
Appears the 16.40 Connolly/Gorey which operates the 19.23 Gorey/Connolly service is finally operating this week.
Is this a mess up on the IE website OR is this service back to normal. |

Whether a 22K works the 1923 is the big question. Last Thursday the 16.40 and Friday morning 06.00 were 29 operated due to 22K failure yet again. |

Why is the 22k failing on this line? I mean it's only a new train!

29000 trains are regularly substituting for the new 22K. I was delighted when the new trains entered service on the line but the delays, tehnical problems and failures I like many of my fellow commuters wish the 29000 take over operating the Gorey trains again. |

Hmmm. Well I suppose 29000 are more suited to Gorey commuter services so maybe in a few months IR should take the 22k off the 0600 and 1640 and leave the Gorey commuters with commuter trains. I think it was a bit silly to put the 22k on the Gorey line in the first place.

I normally get on the 20.05 evening service to Connolly, when I'm in Dun Laoghaire on a Friday night, which arrives (or should do) at 21.45. Usually it runs, but this week I was there on a Thursday night, and (having forgot to check the details on IR ) enquired at DL station if it would be running on Thursday night. The bloke in the ticket office looked surprised that I would ask such a question, and having looked through his book of timetables, was satisfied that it was running. Naturally enough, the next train at 21.45 to the city, was the one going to Howth. If IE's staff can't figure it out, what chance the passengers?
