Default Limerick-Ennis tomorrow

Limerick-Ennis 12:40 tomorrow will be 4 x Mk3 plus a generator van. Let's hope regular passengers have sufficient room.

Well Irish Rail told us it would never happen.

Its short because, it illegal to be long.

Not only that, but it looks like they decided to refurb and test run at least 7-8 cars to produce a 4 car set. The costs of IE's charitable instincts would pay for a lot of taxi fares between Waterford and Rosslare.

According to the journey planner the 1240 operates every day except 24 April- I doubt they actually took any Limk-Ennis only passengers, was the tour itself not a sell out?

good spot neon-circles, although if Limerick-Ennis did not run as a public service, then they made no announcement/travel alert of same. Burying it in the journey planner, like last Saturday's Rosslare deferral, isn't on. Is Limerick-Ennis covered by NTA notice of change rules?

The Mk3 did carry passengers between Limerick and Ennis today and it resulted in the cancellation of the 15:00 Ennis Limerick

The NTA will be getting a letter shortly

So does this mean all the commuter stock will eventually be painted in the colours of 22ks? Also is it mandatory for the front of a train to be yellow now?

Yellow is required if operating into Northern Ireland and it seen as best practice. With the gangway gone it does look a lot better, one fewer thing to go wrong.

All regional stock will get the regional take on the lC livery, its slightly different to the IC version, plus you get the full bodyside UIC number

And why do we need that big long number scrawl. It's not as if it's going to be lost in Paris in the spring......
