Default Enterprise punctuality

I was taking the 0735 Enterprise to Belfast a few days ago and one could see a delay occurring at 0700 when the 0705 to Dundalk could not clear Connolly until 0715. The Dundalk service was at platform four with Sligo due to leave at the same time from platform one which seems illogical as the Sligo train must cross all the lines out of Connolly to make line to Maynooth. It would seem far more sensible to reverse the platforms such that both trains can depart at the same time without delaying each other. By the time we got to Belfast we were 25 minutes late!
