This made the news in the local Sligo and leitrim station. was posted yesterday lunchtime.

http://oceanfm.ie/news/2009/08/12/ia...er-discomfort/

Quote:

Iarnród Éireann apologies for passenger ‘discomfort’
Iarnród Éireann has apologised to passengers this afternoon over reported problems with overcrowding on the 9am Sligo to Dublin service this morning.

Maintenance problems yesterday led to the today’s train having only three carriages instead of the usual six.

Some passengers contacted Ocean FM News today saying they feared for their safety.

Barry Kenny of Iarnród Éireann says passengers were not put at risk but it is a situation that won’t arise again.

The 6 coach 22k running commuter services in from Maynooth yesterday explains that

It will happen again, it always does with Irish Rail

So, I take it that this is what we can expect on the Connolly/Rosslare line from Sept.27th?

Does anyone know why there was a 6 coach 22k on the Maynooth line yesterday?

Absolute madness. I can't wait for the explanation.

I said it before and I'll say it again; the majority if not all Sligo intercity services should consist of 6 coaches.

And that goes for Sunday's as well. I hear there are STILL commuter trains going to Sligo on sundays

Goddam idiots Irish Rail

How can they justify running a 6 coach 22k to Maynooth?

Capacity is the simple answer, but it doesn't justify the train type!
