Default Midleton Line Ticket Vending Machines

Hi all!

On Sunday I had to pick up a friend of mine from Carrigtwohill Station. While I was there I noticed that the destinations on the following lines had been added to the TVM:
  • Cork - Dublin
  • Mallow - Tralee
  • Limerick - Limerick Junction

I was thinking that this would be good for any one wanting to make a journey to a destination other than Cork (or any of the East Cork destinations).

So I said I would check the price of a return to Dublin. The only option was Dublin City Center: 81.30 Monthly Return!

So I compiled a list of destinations and prices from Carrigtwohill, as I was wondering if there was anyone here could confirm that they are correct prices as they seem really expensive!!:

Single Fares From Carrigtwohill
Dublin City Center 67.40
Ennis 40.50
Killarney 28.00
Limerick 37.00
Limerick Jctn 28.50
Mallow 13.00
Tralee 37.00

Monthly Return Fares From Carrigtwohill
Dublin City Center 81.30
Ennis 55.00
Killarney 40.50
Limerick 52.00
Limerick Jctn 40.50
Mallow 20.40
Tralee 52.00

5 Day Return Fares From Carrigtwohill
Dublin City Center 73.80
Ennis n/a
Killarney n/a
Limerick n/a
Limerick Jctn 38.00
Mallow 19.20
Tralee n/a

Personally, I think the prices are really expensive. Can any one confirm that they are correct prices? Cork - Mallow has a day saver ticket? Just wondering why IE could not include that with the current Carrigtwohill - Cork day saver.

As of Sunday, 15th November, the TVM's at Kent Station Cork still do not have Carrigtwohill or Midleton available on them.

Hmmm, one interim solution for Kent would be to have an off the shelf vending machine, e.g. a parking meter, selling singles and returns only to Carrigtwohill & Midleton only.

Or they could just fix the existing ones

Finnyus, the Limerick Junction and Dublin prices seem to be accurate, although there are cheaper day return prices available at certain days and times. Can't speak to the others yet.

Just got word that Midleton & Carrigtwohill can now be purchased from the TVM's @ Kent Station.

Will check it out later.
