2007 Timetable - Northern Suburban Line
If I'm not mistaken, the new timetable is now online at irishrail.ie
It is only valid to 2nd Oct 07 - I assume this is linked into Spencer dock completion. Without analysing it too much, there appears to be no new services at all for commuters on the Northern suburban line. Timings have improved by 1-2 minutes. The lack of evening services still continues, and in general the other off peak services are still poor. There is still a big gap on a Sunday returning from town. There is only 1 service between 3.30pm and 7pm. I think this puts off most familes from using the train to go into town on a Sunday, as while the services will get them in, they are not prepared to wait for hours to return. I really hoped this timetable would have seen this gap addressed. |

It's online in that if you query (on irishrail.ie) any date within the new timetable (i.e. do a search for Dublin to Wicklow on 3rd Feburary and the correct, new times are returned). But not the PDFs yet.
The new times have been entered into the database. |

I know its a little off - topic but
who is actually responsible for timetables?, Had a friend who rang IE regarding trains on Sunday evening a few yrs back, the fact that people working in retail finished at 6, and there was no train to home on. the response was "well the person who does the timetable,so he knows best" my friend now drives btw. |

Kildare Commuter Route - Christmas arrangements
I notice that the IE web site have today (18/12) posted Christmas commuter timetable arrangements for DART, Northern & Maynooth routes.
Nothing about Kildare. It is not obvious if this is an oversight or if there will be no commuter service over the holiday period on the Kildare route. Does anybody have any light to shed on this? |

Normal Saturday service 27/28/29/30 Dec. The notice was issued by Northern and Eastern/DART not Southern and Western, there is no suburban manager anymore in overal control
And there is a massive typo in the notice The Gorey train leaves at 20:25 not 22:25 as IE published Last edited by Mark Gleeson : 18-12-2006 at 13:06. |

IE have changed the notice to 20:25
Once again IE can't proof read Wait till Wednesday concerning Sunday 24th on Kildare line, no Sunday service is in the published timetable but good chance there will be something on Sunday Last edited by Mark Gleeson : 18-12-2006 at 18:22. |

That notice has been updated now. Kildare/newbridge services wont run christmas eve, new years eve or new years day. As well as christmas day and stephens day. Hopefully with the new timetable this will not repeat itself next year . They should have run a saturday timetable for christmas eve and maybe new years eve. 6.30 last train to maynooth is too early.
