Default Phantom train at Mullingar today 11/2/10

Passengers awaiting the 7.27 train to Dublin this morning ran from the waiting room when a train arrived at 7.18 no doubt thinking this was odd that a train was actually early!

As usual the old saying 'if something looks too good to be true then it usually is' applied as the train failed to stop. Then to make matters worse the 'real' 7.27 arrived 11 minutes late and we were then told that there would be a further delay while waiting for the train ahead of us to do something or other. It wasnt made very clear by the driver.

He then announced (unintentionally) over the intercom that 'we have the road ahead of us we will be there by 9' :-)

Wishful thinking on his part as we got in at 9.08 some 20 minutes late and not a word of apology or explanation.

I wonder where that other train came from / was going to?????

29k so.

22K is the intercity railcar with the grey paint scheme
29k is the commuter railcar with the strange blue, white and green scheme.

Which could do with a new colour to distinguish it from the Dart- maybe a nice red...
