The destination display should be set up correctly before boarding, it takes all of a few seconds to punch in the code for the next journey, its clearly shown in the staff timetable. Thats a breech of the accessibility rules

For a railcar or DART which is powered on, it takes about 15 seconds to insert key, set the radio, lights and close the doors, that said the driver should be there in good time. This seems to be a huge problem in Irish Rail, not leaving the terminus on time

Tests are only required when a train enters service, and time is allocated for a driver to do the walk around to test the doors. If the train is broken in some way critical it will refuse to move
