Cork & Kerry area service disruptions, Thursday 22nd May, industrial action by Corporate Communications

UPDATE: 13.15hrs, Thursday 22nd May

Iarnród Éireann advises customers that a refusal by drivers based in Cork to work their normal rosters has potential to cause disruption to rail services in the Cork & Kerry areas.

The stoppage by drivers commenced following a refusal by a Cork-based driver to drive his train within his core roster this morning, to facilitate training of new trainee drivers.

Services currently affected are:

- 11.00hrs Heuston to Cork

- 13.30hrs Cork to Heuston

- Cork commuter services (Cork/Cobh, Cork/Mallow)

The 12.00hrs Heuston to Cork operated normally; the 13.00hrs Heuston to Cork will operate to Mallow only, with bus transfers from Mallow to Cork.

Regrettably, there is the potential for further significant disruption on other services to and from Cork and Kerry.

The following services are likely to be cancelled:

13.30hrs, 14.30hrs, 15.30hrs, 16.30hrs, 17.30hrs Cork to Heuston services

18.00hrs, 19.00hrs, 20.00hrs, 21.00hrs Heuston to Cork services

18.30hrs Heuston to Tralee

The following services are expected to operate, to and from Mallow only. Bus transfers will operate between Mallow and Cork.

14.00hrs, 15.00hrs, 16.00hrs 17.00hrs Heuston to Cork services 18.30hrs, 19.30hrs and 20.30hrs Cork to Heuston services

All other rail services on other routes are unaffected.
