Mark, you mentioned that they are running out of space at Pearse. Could this be attributed to the destruction of platform 3? I know the reason for destruction is tied in with expanding the amount of space at the station for connection with the interconnector. However, there is a huge amount of space to the north of Pearse Station where this expansion could be built on. I know there is a car park down there. However, that could be the made one out of many floors. I hate to see potential go to waste. Also, there is a third platform in Grand Canal Dock which could easily be used for more trains if they are running out of space at Pearse. The electronic display on the platform reads "do not board any train at platform 3". This is absolutely rediculous. Also, if Grand Canal Dock is a business district it should be used as an extra stop for all trains passing it. I would love to know the plans Irish Rail have for Pearse ultimately. If they are going to send Commuter trains to Bray and back, they should be made serve more stations. They are half empty anyway and with a train a few minutes further afield they can't go any faster. So they might aswell maximize the use of their time.
