More information has come to light

As many will know leaving Templemore Dublin bound there is a sharp right hand bend and there are 3 overbridges over the next 2 miles

Train rounded bend and sights the first bridge with only seconds to see the debris. Train was travelling at 85-90mph it it takes about 1400m to stop at that speed.

Mk4 set 4004 was involved, damage is serious and will require extensive repair, as aresult it is highly unlikely set 4004 will not be available in time for January 13th for the new timetable, the set was to be withdrawn for a week for suspension modifications in January it was always on edge to be serviceable in time and that was before this incident
