[19-7-2006] Maynooth Line
Commuter train services in west Dublin have been disrupted to a train derailment.
The Coolmine Road in west Dublin remains closed at the Coolmine level crossing where a track maintenance machine derailed earlier. Rail Services between Maynooth and Pearse Station have resumed as normal. © The Irish Times/ireland.com |
Did the heat warp the rails?
|
at 3am ??
Probably the machine was tamping the track and continued over the crossing instead of stopping |
Does it really take more than 2 hours 45 mins to rerail?
|
Back in the old days you would be surprised how far you could get with a few blocks of wood and a bit of physical force
I get the feeling the level crossing took some damage possibly the surface needed part replacement |
