Any Good Albums For Christmas Pressies.......?

Got Magic Numbers debut for 11-99 in H.M.V. sale. Not bad at 'tall 'tall (As Miley Byrne would've "said") Check out American band call The Walkmen, something that sounds very familliar, yet completely different, and a Swedish lass called Anja Garbarek, follows in the modern tradition of classic Scandanavian cutting edge music. Three highly impressive albums.

Mr. James Brown - R.I.P. Bopping away like a madman in The Great Gig In The Sky............. :o

I thought 2002 's Everyone Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone is a lovely Walkmen album; We've Been Had is one of my favorite songs.

Essentials in any collection:

Indie: The Stone Roses (self entitled)
Rock: U2 album or Oasis
Jazz: Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis
Heavy Metal: Pantera greatest hits
Pop: Justin Timberlake (if you have real bad taste)
Dance: Faithless (forever faithless)
Grunge: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins
Rap: Chamillionaire, 50 Cent

Agree 101% with you on The Stone Roses, dunno if "indie" is the right word for them, as if can be a much misused word, but a spectacular band, all the same. Probably would disagree with you regarding Mr. Hewson and his merry crew, but hey, that's life.... Add John Coltrane to the jazz list, as well as about 10,000 others (Not J***E C****M, or M*****L B***E) Pop is pretty much meaningless these days, but in the proper old school definition of the word, 1964 - 1973 Beach Boys have to be added, even if they had long outgrown "pop" by 1966, and also The Kinks, again in the old school sense of the word. For REAL grunge check out Fugazi, although in fairness their music really does defy description in all the right ways.

Add anything by Rammstein to the Metal list.
