[06/11 - 10/11/2017] Bus substitution due to improvement works
Quote:
This was only posted yesterday, Friday. Wonder what the nature of the improvement works are. |
Nobody to drive is the most likely cause unless there are unplanned which isn't common.

Jamie2k9: If what you say about no available driver is true, then IE are telling one large corporate lie. If (and I stress if) this is the case, why should we believe anything they ever say by way of an excuse for poor performance?
Now if we had a real transport minister, he would be asking one or two very pointed questions. |
This is legitimate engineering works to our knowledge
|
There are indeed engineering works on this line over the next few days as belatedly advised by Irish Rail on November 3rd. Given the short notice you might think these are emergency works but it appears that these are planned track renewals or line improvement works in Irish Rail speak.
Irish Rail speak for the failure to manage driver resources in a competent manager is to refer to the problem as an "operstional issue". Such operational issues have resulted in random unannounced service cancellations on an ongoing basis over the last few years as the driver situation in Waterford teeters on the edge of chaos. |
