DART Christmas & New Year DART Survey

And the dates are all goofed up
Friday 13th and Saturday 14th not 15/16 as in survey Awaiting update from IE |
Nice to see passengers on the Commuter lines in the greater Dublin area are being thought about as per usual
Last time this was experimented solely on the DART line and didnt work out so well. |
They probably should have used this opportunity to get a price range (although I know it is difficult). A lot of people will not use it if they still have to get a taxi when they arrive at their station, as the train fare is set too high.
Agree about the poor treatment of suburban users. :( |
Costs to operate more than the DART are significant, Maynooth line in particular would need 3 level crossings staffed
|
Would be surprised if demand would be high enough to justify extra DART services. They might get some business on the 31th but can't see other dates.
Have they not tried this before? |
It has been tried before, varying levels of success
Annual ticket holders will go for free |

I'd definitely use a late night Dart if I happened to be out when it was operating, but I certainly could not predict at this stage when I might use it.
I've had no luck in the past catching the nightbus in Dublin as they only stop and a handful of random stops and I don't intend to do research to find out which stop I'd need to walk a couple of miles to. At least with the Dart you know it'll stop at every station. |

Would have to staff Heuston, and passengers get to Heuston as IE will not admit to the park tunnel.
DART has the potential demand to make it happen plus least running costs |
Any feedback on how the services went?
Was in town on Sunday night, and not even the nightlinks ran. |
