Off topic but how will the Ballina-N Wall operate as the canal line meets just after the tunnel turns off and I dont think a loco run round is possible.

Ok, they are using GAA speak and assuming everybody understands !
As regards the freight services to Ballina, my guess is Irish Rail will find the shunt required at Glasnevin far too commplicated to organise and will in all probability cancel the service while the line is closed at North Strand Junction.
Expect North Strand Junction to be renewed during the course of this closure.
Also I suspect that we might see the long awaited infrastructure upgrade at Clonsilla come to fruition over the October weekend. Dunboyne/M3 Parkway users beware !
