Belfast Transport Hub (Great Victoria Street redevelopment)

This popped into my twitter feed this morning

So, is this generally good news for passengers coming from the Republic or will there be some negative impacts to moving Enterprise from Central?

(As an aside, surely you can't have a Central and a Hub at the same time...)

Great Victoria Street is probably more "central" than Central Station in terms of Belfast city centre. I would think that the distance from the south into GVS is also a little bit less, so journey times should see a marginal improvement.

Translink for years have tried to deny this was the plan, claiming Central was Central

Its slightly closer to Dublin which might save a minute or two. As Belfast has developed its a bit fuzzy as to Central or Great Victoria Street is nearest, depends on where you are going.

This is very true - since the pedestrian route past The Waterfront opened up, Central Station is far less remote these days.
