2800 on WRC

Rumor is the 2800 set Iarnród Éireann have based in Limerick for driver training is serving the WRC. If these trains are really uncomfortable and unreliable as everybody is saying they are then I bet Luke Flanagan will be moaning on Liveline or Prime time pretty soon.

Uncomfortable yes

Exceptionally reliable

The 2800 I travelled on this evening was reliable alright - unable as to maintain the undemanding schedule, as usual.

I don't get why they are withdrawing the 2700's though after spending money removing the gangways and respraying them to look like 22k's and replacing them with something that's even worst. For years I wanted to see them go but if a 2800 is more uncomfortable than a 2700 then maybe they should just invest in new seats on the 2700.

Two or three sets of 22ks would be able to work the Limerick-Limerick junction service why are they not rolling any out? Give the 2800's to the Nenagh/WRC lines only. They deserve them more :D

2700 units are plagued with reliability issues and spare parts may be a problem

2800 and 2600 share an awful lot of common parts (ICR"s have bogies based on 2800 design) so there is significant cost savings
