Ticket Office in Waterford Sundays

The office does not open for the 18.05 service to Dublin, passengers have to use ticket machines.

Passengers with Social Welfare passes are unable to get tickets for the whole journey, just like people who get on in Thomastown can travel to Dublin for free.

Today the person boarding the train in Waterford said to a blind person, a number of Older people to get off the train in Kilkenny and get a ticket to be able to exit in Heuston.

1. Kilkenny station will not issue a ticket to passengers from Waterford or Thomastown.
2. Every few weeks there is 2 ticket checkers onboard and but for the most part there is nobody, (bad rostering?). When they are onboard they will not issue a ticket unless you are paying for it.
3. Nobody to leave passengers out in Heuston for a while after the service to arrive. Some passengers from Thomastown have to jump over the barriers. When sombody is there they start giving out and saying you should have a ticket and so on and they don't beleave when passengers say they can't get tickets. On week a number of passengers said they got on in Thomastown and there got a reply saying "the ticket checker onboard would issue a ticket and he refused to leave them through until he checked that there was no ticket checker onboard.

I see no reason for the ticket office not be open as there is 3 staff working in the station. 1 boarding the train and the other 2 sitting on the ars*s doing nothing. I can't beleave that passengers are expected to get off a train and get a ticket issued just to please Irish Rail, this needs to be sorted out and I think that RUI need to take this up with Irish Rail as members of the public have complained and have not got anywhere.

Then there is the ticket machines running out of change as most passengers use €50 notes and of course that the passengers fault and not Irish Rails.
