All services suspended out of Waterford due to second landslide at the station. Platforms closed as rocks have damaged rails and further landslide possible.

Likely to continue for some time

Main platform is blocked by a large rock fall

The two terminal platforms are available but are not being used

Jamie2k9 01-01-2014 14:50

Given the location I expect all access to the signal cabin is stopped for safety reasons as it happened right next to it.

To add to the problems the station is now partly flooded, not to bad yet but water just over the rail heads.

Traincustomer 02-01-2014 20:20

On a local radio station it just mentioned that the road at Newrath is flooded (there's a level crossing there - a short distance beyond which the Dublin and Clonmel lines separate).

Hopefully the flooding at the station won't be anything like what it was some time ago when it reached platform level.

Furthermore, there has been some flooding in the area today (Fri 3rd January).
Journey planner also updated until Monday afternoon which it shows no Bus and Train services from late afternoon which also ties in with IRN reports that the bay platforms could be opened in a few days with special conditions due to no signalling and some train size issues.
