This train was 10mins late into Maynooth this evening.

You're right Mark - 10 mins late. I was on it too.
The timetable experts in IE should be able to sort this out without too much difficulty? Am I being too optimistic?

It seems to be a complete reluctance to allow the train use the second platform in Maynooth, possibly on accessibility grounds.

Their solution no doubt will be to change the timetable to have the train take 40 mins to Maynooth like the reality of the situation.

Is there a problem rescheduling departure 10 minutes later?

Mark Gleeson 28-01-2009 20:13

The 19:05 Pearse Maynooth is on the tail of the 19:05 Connolly Sligo so that option doesn't work

The fact is it is possible to get the train to Maynooth ontime, it just Irish Rail refuse to shunt a train back to the sidings to free up a platform. Departure from Maynooth would still be a bit late but several minutes earlier than before
