View Full Version : Are first class fares cheaper online?
Booking a return Connolly to Belfast for my father, who's insisting on going first class (is there any point to it?).
Web fares showing standard class 20 return, first class 99.
Anyone know if the first class fare is the same at the desk, as if so I mightn't bother booking it online since he'd have to go and collect the ticket anyway.

No discounts for first online, the price is always the same as at the desk
There may be cheaper upgrades to first on Weekends
Enterprise has nice first class with the proper wide seats and so on, but in reality at 20 euro day return you can't really go wrong in standard class

I think that your father, if he qualifies for free travel, can then pay the first supplement; that is what I have done for my parents when they travel from Belfast. They have seats, service and are much less likely to be discomfited if the Enterprise (as it can be) is busy especially the 0800 from Belfast and 1650 back. Some of the weekend trains can also be very busy during the summer months.
