There seems to be some serious delays inbound on the Northern Line this morning, up to 12 minutes
Its claimed to be an obstruction on the line at Portmarnock but as always there are no details on the IE website
The 8.08 ex Malahide arrived in a good 10 minutes down and gave crowded a whole new meaning
Is obstruction the new jargon for broken down train ?
Yip, I was delayed on the Dundalk to Bray service that was stuck behind it, although that was delayed for longer then that.
All northbound DARTS/Drogheda/Maynooth services also suffered delays yesterday evening betweeb 5pm and 6pm, and again this evening.
After yesterday evenings delays, I decided to check the website before I left work. Was ok @ 5pm, but then the IE website went down till @ least 5.20pm when I left work. When I got to the station, all services delayed. When I rang Pearse, they advised vandalism at Dalkey. But then the one and only PA announcement advised problems at Merrion Gates. Who knows........
It's been a bad few days for Drogheda commuters....

The previous post, made over 90 minutes ago refers to problems at Merrion Gates: it seems to refer to the situation as of 6pm approximately. Just looked at the IE website at 11.05pm and it refers to Dart delays "at the moment".
What on earth does that mean? There is no time given. Looks like one of those "back in 10 minutes" notices you see someone leave on a door for a couple of hours.
WHy is the disgraceful performance of the IE website not taken up by politicians or the media?

why do trains stop in portmarnock northbound for so long
last night was on a dart for about 3 minutes stopped there. Southbound dart came and went, there was no dart between portmarnock and malahide, the last drogheda train had gone 7 minutes before my dart left pearse
night of the take that concert, last train, stopped in Portmarnock for ages again.
night of the robbie williams concert. late special train i.e. no darts around ahead still stopped for over 3 minutes in portmarnock
