As a result of the Lansdowne Road works, there will be bus transfers in place between Connolly Station and Greystones on Sundays 17th and 24th May 2009 for Rosslare passengers

Furthermore there are timetable advances in the timetable as follows:

The best way of apologising for the inconveniences IR cause, is by slashing fares to half price in the case of bus substitutes. It's very annoying for commuters, that one line or one station can hold up/ruin someone's trip, because IR are too slow in getting done whatever needs to be done. The Kildare route project for example has been going on for years.

It's an insult also to them to expect to pay over-the-odds to travel on buses, when a Bus Eireann one could do it, at a good deal cheaper. You pay a train fare to travel by train, buses at rail fares simply aren't good enough.

Actually there's little to tell between bus and train prices on the route. A day return from Wexford to Dublin, for example, is €22.50 by train and €19.50 by bus, while monthly returns are €28.50 and €24 respectively. There would certainly be a case for fare reductions on affected services on the case of disruption to Heuston to Cork/Limerick/Waterford services, where the fare differential is more pronounced, but I'm not so sure about it here.
