Cleaning trains?
When do IE clean their trains, or do they clean their trains.
I noticed yesterday that at almost every table to a 2seater on a class 29000 and 2800 trains the pull down tables are filthy. Under the seats where the heaters are there is dirt and rust. Thought yesterday do Irish Rail clean their trains either monthly or weekly.

The Mk4s and Enterprises have an onboard cleaner. I know the commuter carriages are washed externally every fortnight. Not sure about inside, though. Marks?

Internally a basic clean should be done daily
External wash is meant to be every 3 days
Deep clean occurs every number of months
Remember looking at the cleaning checklist in the toilets on the Sligo train before - if it's accurate, about 3 times a month.

its true, the commuter trains are filthy. Every time i pull down those mini tables they are full of dirt and stains. the cleaning has to improve drastically.
Passengers have a role too. Some people really leave an awful mess. A guy on the train last week told a woman in front of me that she had left her trashy novel behind. She said it was grand she was finished with it! People leave stuff all over the tables when they get out, even when there is a bin behind their seat.

yeah but on commuter services that could literally have just been done by the lad who you replaced at that stop and i'd say you can only reasonably expect them to be cleaned when there is a break in service that day for them.
