The met office has been hinting at possible large accumulations of snow. In tonights weather forecast on RTE the following was stated:

High risk of disruption in eastern areas tomorrow

AA Roadwatch has stated the following:

**Scattered wintry showers of hail, sleet and snow are forecast for the next couple of days which may affect eastern parts of Leinster. These conditions have the potential to make driving conditions hazardous.

The following weather advisary is out from the met

Wintry showers between Sunday night and Tuesday will lead to some snow accumulations over the eastern half of the country.

And the following is the forecast for tomorrow

Monday will be mainly dry with sunny spells in the western half of the country. However, the east will have a mixture of sunny intervals and wintry showers, many falling as sleet or snow, and with snow lying in places by the end of the day. Very cold everywhere, with moderate to fresh, northeast to north winds increasing strong and gusty in the east. Highest temperatures just 2 to 5 degrees Celsius

Very cold throughout. MONDAY NIGHT, TUESDAY, TUESDAY NIGHT: Outbreaks of sleet or snow in eastern parts will gradually extend to many other areas - with snow cover becoming more widespread, and with signifcant accumulations possible locally - BUT should turn largely to rain or sleet during Tuesday and Tuesday night.

anyway it will be interesting to see if any rail services are affected should the conditions expected over the next 24 hours kick in

Just seen this, not sure if connected to weather

BRAY TO GREYSTONES RAIL LINE CLOSED DUE TO ROCKFALL ON BRAY HEAD by Corporate Communications

Iarnród Éireann advises customers that DART services to Greystones, and Gorey Commuter and Rosslare Intercity services, face disruption due to the closure of the rail line between Bray and Greystones.

This closure is required due to rockfall close to the entrance of the first tunnel on Bray Head, which has the potential to fall on the rail line.

Bus transfers will operate between Bray and Greystones for all DART services from now until further notice. All other DART services will operate normally, from Howth/Malahide to Bray.

Gorey commuter services and Rosslare Intercity services will be part substituted by bus from 16.00hrs onwards. Further details will be confirmed shortly.

Iarnród Éireann apologises to customers for any inconvenience caused.
