Just several examples of price difference now, January 2009, and 2 years ago, January 2007.

Tea - 2,10 € / 1,75 € - increase 20%
Coffee - 2,25 €/ 2,00 € - increase 12,5%
Danish - 2,40 €/ 2,00 € - increase 20%
Sandwich - 4,95 €/ 4,25 € - increase 16,5%
Fruit Cake - 1,65 €/ 1,25 € - increase 32%
Baguette - 4,95 €/ 6,55 € - increase 32%
Minerals - 1,20 €/ 1,60 € - increase 33%

We all aware of high prices on the trains but still above are few comparisons to attract attention of responsible authorities how far they've gone :)

I noticed on the sligo train today that the Budweiser cans they are selling are multipack ones which have have stamped on them not for individual sale

Fairly typical, I suppose, although not legally enforceable. Pepsi in the UK has started stamping ridiculously low prices on its multipack cans to discourage resale.

Sounds like someone is doing a trip to Newry to get it on the cheap. Sure the Diageo crew will be interested to hear this

Incidentally the 500ml can price on Enterprise is 4.95 full 65 cent less

A 330ml can of orange costs €1.75 or £1.20 - hardly reflective of the current / recent exchange rates!

Some things are cheaper, some more expensive

I'll say one thing Enterprise has a much better range in the bar :D

That can't really be a factor in this particular case, as all passengers on all services can choose which currency they wish to pay in (regardless of which side of the border the train is currently on). I regularly travel between Dundalk and Dublin but normally pay in sterling.
