We've been parked up just north of Limerick Junction for close on 20 minutes. Train host is saying signal failure. As such this train is liable to be delayed. The 21:00 Heuston-Cork may be affected, but if IÉ are sensible they'll send out the set that did the 16:30.

The intercity arrivals webpage is not working which supports the signaling failure theory

There is a train set to run the 21:00 to Cork, but there may not be a driver, though I think the driver would have driven the 16:30 so it should be ok

Website of course says nothing

How far north is north? Before or after the level crossing?

I can't tell, too dark.

Just started off again as of 19:05 but at a much reduced speed.

And my laptop battery's nearly out, and I'm not in first, so I may not have much in the line of further updates.

Its probably the manual signal just north of Limerick junction which is the entry point onto the automated signaling

Probably will speed up to normal in about 2 miles or so

Seats 5 & 6 :D

I had to get up and go and look to see what was so good about those seats. Power is good but the table is too small.

Just made an extra stop at Newbridge. We seem to have had a change of train host.

The train eventually chugged in at 2050. As I arrived in they started boarding a train on platform 7 to operate the 2100 Heuston-Cork, and had about three people in before another IÉ guy yelled at them to stop. I don't know which train ended up operating the service because I was too preoccupied getting a tram, but I heard a horn sound at 2105 so chances are that train got away then.

Linked to this incident (http://www.examiner.ie/story/Ireland/idaucwcwcw/rss2/) perhaps?

No, because that happened yesterday and I was travelling on Sunday :)
