All services Dublin Westport Mon-Sat are in the hands of the new 6 coach intercity railcars. This won't be the case next year

These trains have first class, as no first class is advertised in the timetable, you are allowed sit in the first class seats at no extra charge

was on the 12:40 westport train today I noticed that it was a 22k 6coach set not 2x3sets. The full 6 coaches were standard where did the first class coach disappear to:D:D

I was in the first class area on the 22k over the weekend

It doesn't look much different but the seats are certainly a different model and the tables are slightly different, beyond that its the same

Hi mark, honestly from the first coach i got in, i walked from the first coach to the last cocah total 6coaches and no first classThe very fact that you could not tell which was the First Class section without the appropriate signage, makes me wonder how good this 1st Class service is ...

Distinctly - three seats across instead of four, although I think some of the Mk3s did have a "pretend" first class where the only difference was the headrest.

Most of them something like 11 vs 3 proper first class

Yeah, there were (are) three Citygold-branded first class carriages which were fairly decent. The only catch was that the supplement on those trains was three times the supplement on the normal first class.

I think the six carriage train is no longer running, back down to the 2 x 3 set this morning.

It may or may not have had a little 'incident' in Tullamore yesterday
