There was an earlier security alert at lisburn. At Connolly, services stated 16.50 was delayed.

I passed the incoming enterprise at 15.16 north of Drogheda, allowing for 45 mins arrival at connolly, means enterprise could be delayed until 17.15-17.30

The security alert at Lurgan has now been lifted; all Enterprise rail services will resume back to normal but some knock-on delays can be expected.

Arrived 17:06 a full 46 minutes late, best turnaround is about 25 minutes, so it won't be out till 17:30 and will lose another 15 minutes or so to Dundalk, good hour late into Belfast

Lisburn is not Lurgan. Lisburn would be ok because you can send the train via Antrim and Knockmore (granted this is also slow)

Lots of delays to Drogheda/Dundalk services this evening. 17.50 Pearse-Drogheda delayed 10 mins between Pearse and Connolly. Also 18.15 delayed about 15 mins. The 18.40 Connolly to Dundalk will switch tracks at Skerries to pass the earlier delayed service (18.15). Both trains should go through Skerries northbound around 19.05.

Its a very long way around though, be faster to change to a bus. Generally only used at the start of the day since there is only 1 set based in Dublin so they need to get a further set in motion

The line from Antrim to Lisburn is now only passable with several days notice. It is disconnected from the signaling system and special arrangements have to be made to bring in staff to conduct a train over the line. The majority of translink drivers are no longer permitted to drive over the line as their route knowledge has expired and no Dublin driver would be passed on it.

A train running from Antrim to Dublin via this line would have to run into Lisburn station and out again as the junction at Knockmore was removed in 1977 and in any case faced north the same as that at Lisburn

dunno it was the attendant on the train that told me lisburn had the security scare.. didn't notice it said lurgan on the quote :( I might have heard it wrong.. probably had lisburn on the brain as i was going to sprucefield that evening :o
