Be warned folks, and I hope I'm wrong, but expect the pay parking scheme to be implemented tomorrow.
On Friday evening the posters and machines had stickers placed over them stating that the scheduled commencement for today was deferred. They have been removed this evening and the main entrance to the car park has now been reopened nearer the roundabout.
They'll be getting no €2 off me as long as I can help it.

this happened this morning...no notice AT ALL that the deferral was over. If it wasn't for the fact that the train was lat (7.17) then i would have missed it(having to run back to get a ticket) ...only for the fact i had overheard another commuter asking the girl in the kiosk when it was going to be in force i wouldnt have known about it!
Absolute farce again...why must everything IR do be done so incompetently???
The deferral sign that was sellotaped to the parking sign stated that parking charges were "Deferred until futher notice" ...where was the notice ???

This situation as regards Pay & Display is all very confusing, I know people paid for their parking this morning (at Hazelhatch), however I have just had an email from Thomas Harrington - Sales Director of NCPS and he said pay parking has not been introduced and I can continue 'to park for the time being'.

Got this message from NCTS people
Dear Mr.
Paid Parking is indeed deferred in Hazlehatch until further notice. The signs saying as much were removed by persons unknown but have since been replaced.
Best Regards
Tom
Yesterday the IR staff at the station were saying that parking charges were in force!!
Another IR farce

Indeed. There were fresh stickers up this morning stating that parking would be free until further notice and there were black hoods over the ticket machines.

As Irish Rail or to be more precise CIE have contracted it out they have walked away from any responsibility in the matter.
The official line was Monday 6th
Presumably they'll be offering refunds to those who did pay yesterday?

is the payparking in effect now in hazelhatch? I've noticed the hoods have been removed from the meters...but no signs saying that payparking is now in force!

Yep, the payparking will start on Mon next 24th. It will be interesting as to how the shuttle bus serving the 5.15pm train fron Heuston will cope - maybe fisticuffs!!. Be there or be square!!

Had first experience with payparking today...not a good one either.
Machine only accepts coins!! It says it will accept credit cards...but this morning it was rejecting them.
Also the tickets you get are extremely cheap...they dont even have a sticky bit on them so you can stick them to your window/dashboard....
makes me wonder are they deliberately trying to be customer unfriendly??

I started using the shuttle bus this morning, but I did notice that no operatives of NCPS were on the ground as promised.

My Citroen has a very useful plastic clip on the side of the windscreen for any parking permits, but be warned - a muppet in Louisa Bridge one day stuck a ticket on me for having none, despite the fact that my ticket was quite visible on the side of the windscreen. Seems he was only looking at the dash and didn't see the ticket on it. Thankfully it was cancelled on appeal but the hassle was unnecessary.
