Longford & Sligo service alterations, Monday 18th August by Corporate Communications
Due to operational problems, the following service alterations apply this evening, Monday 18th August:
16.00 Dublin Connolly to Sligo is cancelled. Customers will be accommodated on the 17.05 Dublin Connolly to Sligo.
18.05 Dublin Connolly to Longford is cancelled, Customers will be accommodated on the 17.33 Bray – Longford (departs Connolly at 18.18)
17.00 Sligo to Dublin Connolly: train Sligo to Dromod, bus transfers from Dromod to Dublin Connolly.

17:33 Bray Longford is running so its still there, though it will be 'uncomfortable'
But the 17:33 Bray Longford is departing from connolly this evening

18:05 Connolly Longford is cancelled, 17:33 Bray Longford is running throughout, it always departs Connolly at 18:18

This is getting ridiculous, can they not get staff to fill in when someone is out sick or on holidays, this is nearly weekly now and getting me really mad! How can they just re-arrange our lives with only one hours notice.

We are recording this and will be causing some trouble in due course. We already have a complaint in concerning Irish Rail's operation of the Sligo service.
Problems are always Fri-Mon. Though denied there are not enough staff, the 2008 timetable to Sligo was the straw that broke the camels back, Irish Rail deny this. Things will get better in September as annual leave diminishes.
Irish Rail have a nice cosy legal escape clause and are effectively untouchable.
