Here's a questions for yis...

Currently I commute Coolmine to Lansdowne.
I buy a day return ticket everymorning from station to station.
In the morning I go straight accross.
Sometimes in the evening I need to stop off in town on the way.
My question is, can I make the return journey in two legs?
ie: Lansdowne to town (dart) get off for a bit, then on the same ticket later on town to coolmine??

Appreciate the help

Not allowed. Break of journey is not permitted on tickets issued wholly within the Dublin suburban area or Cork-Cobh. You should buy an additional single ticket from Lansdowne-Connolly (or wherever) and then use the return ticket to board the Maynooth train.

No you can't split the journey on a single or return issued in the Dublin Suburban area.

However if you where using a 3 or 7 day point to point, weekly, monthly or annual ticket you may split your journey en route.

Cheapest is to buy the return Coolmine Lansdowne and then single Lansdowne City Centre and use the return for the rest of the way home. Lansdowne has exit gates so it will catch you if you try to use your ticket for a split journey

ID is not required for adult 3 day and 7 day tickets issued within the short hop area, but it is for 7 day medium/long/giant hop tickets or tickets issued point-to-point outside the short hop zone.

You could be forgiven for that given that the blue and purple ticket stock says "valid only with current photo ID"!

3 extra mins in bed!
