That service was canceled today morning. Does anyone knows why?

There was no driver to operate the service

There are insufficient drivers available to operate the current timetable without resorting to overtime and drivers working on their allocated days off

Drivers are no longer working on their days off as is their right under the agreement which they and company signed, the company agreed to eliminate rest day working as part of the deal, clearly they havent

Actually what happened was a drvier refused to take out a trainee and got suspended, Cork drivers now refusing to work rest days and take out trainees untill ammendments are made to the roster.

Thats 10am this morning, different train

5:15 on the 20th was a no driver on the roster to drive

The IE management in Cork and elsewhere must be finding it impossible to run the company if what is reported is true - i.e. a Cork driver refuses to take on a trainee!
More drivers are required and the Cork drivers refuse to allow 'hands on' training.
It is touching on anarchy what is going on in Cork - and possibly elsewhere?
I believe the 2007 tiimetable should be reinstated and hopefully the train drivers will then allow training of drivers and give full co-operation.
In any job there has to be flexibility because agreements never cover every eventuality.
However, at this stage, I do sympathise with management. Even allowing for management mistakes in the past the Cork drivers, in particular, are on the edge of anarchy.

Yesterday we had a service, today we do not, staff position has been fixed in stone, management set up a trap they knew it would trigger a reaction. We have been here before with the Mk4 same game. If management had not done what they did we wouldn't be here, right or wrong the passenger is now left stranded

We understand two things
1 The pilot driver in Cork is not meant to leave Cork station
2 Supervision of trainees is voluntary, the whole driver mentor thing hasn't been agreed yet
