"Ulsterbus - Newry By Pass May 2008-2009 9-May-2008 17:03
On Monday 12 May Lagan Construction will begin rock blasting at Cloghogue Roundabout and on the bypass.
This will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 1100 and 1500. This work is scheduled to take place up until May 2009.

Each road closure is estimated to be 20 minutes and some delays may be experienced during this time.
This will affect Ulsterbus service 43 to Forkhill and service 200 travelling to Dublin.

We would advise passengers to allow additional time for their journeys and especially if travelling to Dublin Airport and Dublin."

Any idea if this will affect the railway line at any stage? It's right beside the site works at the southern end of the bypass

Answering my own question, but...

From Wesley Johnston (who runs the NI roads site) via e-mail

The railway has been taken into account and apparently the 20 minute closure will be planned for a period when no trains are due. Therefore, there should be no disruption to the trains.

I hope they're flexible enough to wait for the train if it's late (which everything from Dublin seems to be lately)

You know what's funny? Whenever a bus service faces disruption the company can improvise, change routs and bend over backwards to help. When IE face a crisis (like Skerries) they simply give up and say get a bus.
