Was on the 07:50 coolmine pearse this morning. It was about ten minutes late arriving into connolly. There is a note stating that services are delayed by up to thirty minutes due to an earlier points failure between connolly and clontarf road

Got a long list of delays up up to 25 minutes inbound, particularly from the Northern line

Of course nothing on the IE site

Just off the train there. Left Donabate on the 7.50. About 20 minutes late. No announcements on board.

An absolute disgrace.

Well we will have a full list of all trains after 7:45am this morning, we will have full stats

Between 7:45 and 10:06 we are looking at over 8 hours of totalled delay minutes through Connolly

on the 8.17 ex-Coolmine. Stuck outside Connolly for about 5 - 10 mins, another 5 mins on the platform then again before Tara (short stop). Overall, around 15 mins late getting into Pearse. As ever, AA Roadwatch is a good update for info - was advised of delay via radio before Drumcondra. Drivers excuse (when he eventually broke radio silence) was overcrowding on platforms, aa roadwatch said problem was with an inbound DART train.

As an aside, I get on the train at pretty muich the same spot every day (second last carraige - door nearest the WC - best to avoid the crush:) ). This door has been out of operation pretty frequently - I'm guessing more than a half dozen time over the past while - is this a regular problem with the doors, or do IE just not bother to fix these i.e. it has being out of action for ages? Maybe I'll note the carraige number next time...

on the 8.17 ex-Coolmine. Stuck outside Connolly for about 5 - 10 mins, another 5 mins on the platform then again before Tara (short stop). Overall, around 15 mins late getting into Pearse.

when I got off the train at Connolly and walked up to the exit validation area all trains were listed as delayed by ten to fifteen trains but that one was the single train [8.17 ex coolmine- 7.55 Maynooth Bray] that was listed as on time. Having said that, it more than like didn't reach Drumcondra at that point!

It was the same with the 7.50 ex coolmine, it was pretty much on time most of the way the ten minute delay was picked up between Drumcondra and Connolly.

Three distinct things went wrong this morning

1. Points at Clontarf Rd
2. 5:45 Sligo - Dublin broke down in Sligo
3. Clonsilla turnback siding point jammed

None of these three problems where listed on the IE site, but thats not a suprise to us

8.40 from Drogheda left about 5 mins late and had several unscheduled stops along the way. Arrived in Connolly about 15 mins late at 9.55.

What time did the Clonsilla problem occur because the 7:45 Clonsilla Docklands ran on time although a train was running empty towards Clonsilla a few minutes beforehand could have been that train.

It started with the 545 Dundalk to Pearse:mad:

By the time we got to clontarf at around 653 we stoped. We then had a 20 minute wait with NO information from the driver. The doors then opened after a dart had passed us both directions, and an entire 8 carraige commuter packed onto a morning dart that chug through to connolly.

It was a total mess, and NO ONE told us anything. There was one announcement on the platform when everyone was transfaring but i was on the dart and didnt hear it.

I was about 40 minutes late to placement today, and it was my first day on the ward im currently on. I was seriously peeved off!

PS: No one bothered to use the sos terminals, and the dart driver didnt tell the crowd to stand back form the doors or make any announcement. I also have to be wary of the commuter driver as he said nothing all morning and the annoucements were off, someone wasnt doing thier job:rolleyes:
