Should we point out to them that St. Patrick's Day is the 15th of March this year?

good point but its only the religious holiday that is changed. The public holiday is still the 17th March.

Even if Saturday was the 17th we would still have Monday off

The point is that the notice is incorrect.

Are the Club Finals taking place on St. Patrick's Day or the 17th ?

17th which is Saint Patricks Day from the point of view of the Irish State

Rome says its the 15th this year, quite different

You have to distinguish between the religious day of st. patrick and the public holiday. Both are usually on 17th March.

This year due to the religious holiday falling during easter holy week the religious holiday has moved to the 15th March 2008. The public holiday will not follow suit. The public holiday and festivities, parade etc will remain as the 17th.
